Sarah Coe Atkinson, MSc., received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in the Reproductive Laboratory Science (RLS) track from the University of Kentucky. In addition to her extensive background in embryology and andrology, she also has a wealth of experience in molecular techniques, data analysis and laboratory management, having held the position of Research Analyst at the University of Kentucky in lung cancer research before moving into the world of embryology. Before joining Rejoice Fertility full time in 2021, Sarah led an IVF Lab in Lexington, Kentucky as Lab Supervisor and Senior Embryologist.
Sarah has received numerous certifications, awards, and recognitions throughout her career, and is proud to have been the embryologist who thawed and transferred the Guinness World Record breaking embryos, not once but TWICE now. From nationally recognized as Embryologist of the Month, to internationally recognized as the Embryologist who thawed the embryos that broke the world record twice, Sarah has navigated many reporters, journalists, and news stories with grace. Her care, compassion and genuine happiness for her patients shines through her words and interactions.
Most currently, in addition to the incredible achievement of guiding our lab to consistently achieving IVF live birth rates per transfer that are higher than the national average, Sarah has been working hard to launch Rejoice Embryo Rescue. With an intense passion for embryo ‘adoption’, Sarah hopes her work will help many more families to come. When not at work, Sarah enjoys traveling with her husband, son and daughter. Lastly, Sarah would like to request that all patients bring their babies by for a mandatory snuggle session!
