John D. Gordon, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Gordon graduated summa-cum-laude from Princeton University with a degree in Biology and then attended medical school at Duke University. He was an intern in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston and then completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University Medical Center and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Gordon is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Gordon has practiced in the field of infertility for 30 years including 20 years at Dominion Fertility in Arlington, Virginia. In 2019 he relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee and is the owner and Medical Director of Rejoice Fertility.

Rejoice Fertility is unique as it is a “no discard” IVF program and does not offer Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) of embryos. Dr. Gordon is a strong proponent of Embryo Adoption, and the 2025 birth of Thaddeus Pierce from an embryo that was frozen for over 11,000 days (30 years) before being thawed and transferred at Rejoice was reported nationally and
internationally.

Dr. Gordon has a passion for teaching and serves as Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Tennessee Medical Center providing regular lectures to interns, residents, and medical students.
