Frequently Asked Questions: Out of Town Patients

Yes. We have patients from all over the United States and some from outside of the USA.

No. Some testing may have to be repeated on a yearly basis such as a saline sonogram and a TSH but much of your previous testing will not need repeating.

Every patient will need to visit us at either the Knoxville or Nashville office in order to establish themselves as a patient prior to undergoing any treatment cycles. For patients pursuing embryo adoption they may not have to return to Tennessee until the day prior to their actual embryo transfer. Patients undergoing IVF will usually spend 12-14 days in TN starting on Day 8 of their IVF cycle and remaining until the day of their embryo transfer.

Yes. However, we do need to get hormone blood test results back the same day that they are drawn which can limit options for monitoring closer to your home.

Nashville is our satellite location and patients can schedule new patient visits, follow up consultations, diagnostic testing and office-based fertility treatments like ovulation induction and intrauterine inseminations (IUI) at this office. The office is just minutes away from Nashville International Airport (BNA). Out-of-town patients may prefer to fly in and out of BNA (which is a larger airport than TYS) and have their initial visit and some monitoring performed in Nashville before leaving Music City for Knoxville where our state-of-the-art IVF laboratory is located. All IVF procedures (egg collections and embryo transfers) are performed in Knoxville.
